The Residence Program

It's not necessarily on an invite basis ONLY it's more of a review of the references listed (coach, asst coach, ODP Coaches, etc) to guarantee that the players entering YPT are of the highest quality so that each player that registers can sincerely be up against another player of equal or slightly better quality to improve one another and to also maintain the level of interest from the Euro Clubs (Man U, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Feyenoord) that send their Academy coaches/trainers to YPT to assist in the camps exercises and review possible potential players to invite them to their Academies in Europe. Tremendous opportunity for every player and that checklist of references is a way not the only way to guarantee the quality of each player registering.

For the other questions, I'm planning on sending in my son's application this year. He's 9 playing up in a U11 team right now. I know John R has sent his son though...and actually John R was one of the first that pointed me into the direction of YPT a few months back and I called and spoke with the contact at YPT who gave me this info so I feel very comfortable about the whole situation and if I'm going to shell out money for training I'd like YPT to be the recipient in exchange of high quality training opportunities for my son. If nothing else it's a tremendous experiece for my son and others as well.

Is there any chance that there will be a summer Residence Program this summer? Aaron so much enjoyed the camp years back and has asked about it AGAIN this winter. Could you please let us know if you are planning to re-instate the camp? Thank you.

YPT continues to be a great opportunity for Dayne. This was his 3rd year in The Residence Program and once again, he throughly enjoyed it. It is well worth the long drive from Canada for us, as you are well aware there is nothing like this type of program offered anywhere in Canda. What we love the most with YPT is that it truly is about player development and each individual player raising their knowledge and skill of the game. All the trainers are positive, professional and teach something new. The caliber of players are also top notch so it provides for a competitive environment. The skills Dayne has learned off the field have also given him the opportunity to see what it feels like to be in a professional environment.

The only suggestion we have is to bring back a goalie coach to work with the goalies for 2011 Residence Program.

Hope you are doing well. We have been following the website and hope that the Bermuda Training Program for December works out. We are assuming this is involved with Rocky, if so please give him our regards. You will both be happy to hear Dayne has been succesful in making the Under 14 Provinical Team. (as was Kris). Dayne is also making a permanent switch to play the goalkeeper posisiton at both the provincial level and for his club team. His experience with YPT Residence Program and European Tour Program have given hime the confidence and opportunity to pursue the goalkeeper position on a permanent basis. He may have the opportunity to travel to Switzerland in March and train at the National Training centre as they compete against teams from Europe.

We would still love to see you here in Toronto area one day.

I have to say that Alec really enjoyed your program. He said, he wishes that his regular soccer practice was as fun as yours.......Hope to see you in the future.....

Mason had a good time in Bradenton. Thank you for allowing him to be involved. He enjoyed being coached by you and found the event to be worth the time.

Either way you will still need very reliable soccer references to vouch for you level of skill. Man U, Bayern Munich, Ajax will only continue to send their coaches/trainers if the very best players are out there and let's face it if you're one of the top players the chances of you being on ODP are rather high and if you're not you better have really good references to speak on your behalf....hope that helps..

Heard good things from the boys regarding your visit to Newark 2 weeks ago. Boys got a lot out of your training, both technical and method of - kudos that I know you want to hear.

Charles
European Tour Program

You know how much we have appreciate all he is gained from participating in 2 YPT European Tour Programs and attending The Residence Program for 4 years. Our entire family missed it last summer and I'm sure you have received that feedback from many people, but we check out the website and looks like The Finishing School has been a great success. As you know we have nothing here in Canada that compares. YPT played a big role in his development which led to Dayne being selected for our Ontario Provincial Team from U14-16. As much as we would love to say yes, at this time we can not commit. Dayne was very fortunate and had an opportunity with the Canadian National Team U16, and they participated in a tournament in April it Italy. We are hearing through the grapevine there is going to be another id camp in January for U17 so until we know what is going on there we can't commit.

Thank you for everything you have done for this team this season. From my point of view as a mother, my son has not only learned a lot as a player of the sport but has learned a tremendous amount about himself from you. Respect for himself and others is high on that list. I thank you for that! Wyatt has made several comments of how much he liked having you for his coach and what you've taught him. As for interest in continual training, Wyatt would like to be added to that list. He truly loves to play soccer and would like to improve himself as a player. Thank you again for your time and knowledge you've given to my son.

Bob ran a great session last night with Travis and Mikey. He said it was one of your creations. Travis came home so pumped by the intensity he had to produce, yet exhausted to the point of needing a salty bath when he got home. He absolutely loved the training. I wish we were able to do that more often as it was probably worth a month's regular training.

Eric
Team Training

Thanks for your work with the guys. From Jared's comments, he really enjoyed the training, was motivated to be there and work hard, and increased his love of the game. As I mentioned before, he was very upset and disappointed when we unintentionally missed one practice. I think it was beneficial to Jared's skill development.

Eric really enjoyed the YPT sessions. He was very disappointed that he had to miss a couple of the sessions. Focusing on just a few areas makes a lot of sense. Eric is looking forward to working with you in the future.

Ben said that you had an exceptional eye for detail and that your pointers were spot on and helpful. He also enjoyed the new drills. From my perspective, I am happy that Ben enjoyed the session and the coaching. He has been frustrated by his current teams' level of play. We'll keep an eye out for future yptusa sessions. Thank you again and have a great week!

Clay will be at your training session tomorrow. We are just wondering if you plan to have more sessions this year, here or elsewhere. We would rather see him get more fundamental training instead of playing in the winter league that has been offered.

We have been living in Zurich. In fact we just got back from Lisbon, after work and the Benfica Europa League game. Adam, our 13 y.o is playing for a local club here, a feeder system to FC Zurich. I can tell you the soccer environment for us is much less intense, as compared to the days of FC Delco, PA Classics, and US Development Academy and it is quite enjoyable. Every club here has its own decent field or fields and most has a club house so players come and change in the locker room; parents can relax with food and drinks.

It is quite refreshing to see how the game is taught and played here as we watch our youngest son at practices and games. Many of our observations are consistent with what we saw through your program. Keep up the great work John. Let us know when you are in the area the next time you are in Europe.

The last session was exactly what I was looking for. It added tremendous value and all of the players liked it. Even Shiraj mentioned the same when he asked me how it went. We were all happy with the session. I know that the future ones will be
a continuation on what you started. Even, if it is not, the value you bring with your experience is what I need.

The boys really enjoyed training with you and we'd love to have you around 6 days a week!

I asked my guys that you requested feedback and they all mentioned that they loved the session - both morning and afternoon. They wished they had more time. They also truly appreciated and enjoyed having you attend our movie night and hang with us for a bit. They felt it was helpful to hear some stories about the pros. You stretched my players more than they had ever been stretched in a simple two-touch pass exercise. That is exactly what they needed. Too often our high school aged players think technical stuff is "baby-stuff" but when they realize they can't do it correctly - it becomes very humbling for them. Thank you for giving us exercises that we can take back an immediately make an impact on our development and an overall experience that will remain with my players for a lifetime.

Marc enjoyed your training immensely. He really respects your opinion and embraced the feedback you provided. He is a reserved kind of kid so when he expresses feelings about something I know they are heartfelt. As a parent, I feel we got a lot for our money. I appreciate all you did to work around darkness etc.... and again, I know we weren't formally introduced but I know Marc is a good judge of character. Thank you very much and have a great holiday season.

Let me start off by saying thank you for the opportunity. It was a big deal to me after following you guys on social media and seeing the training you guys do, I never really looked in to depth good enough to realize how close you guys really were. Just the way it started, where you were already substituting the standard basic American warm up for one you observed over seas. The session was like one I’ve never experienced before. I think excited is an understatement to say for how much I’m looking forward to the next opportunity.
