He thought it was great! He liked that you were showing/working with him how to "prepare the ball" before the shot and working on placement. No one else has ever worked with him on those things in travel/club soccer. He really enjoys the time you take to show and help him become a better player. It is greatly appreciated from both him and my wife and I. I hope we can work something out to help Luke continue to grow and develop as a player.

I am Tom and Kolachi's mom. Both had very nice things to say and liked it very much. I can't tell you anything specific but I can say that they would do it again. We have a good handful of younger players in the 11 to 13 age bracket that wanted to do this session.

I would like to thank you for sharing your coaching talents with our boys this year. Joe has developed a much deeper understanding of soccer and the skills involved in playing the game. He has developed a greater enjoyment for the game and an eagerness to play. Before Joe joined Elco United about two years ago, he played "rec" soccer through childhood, where any parent willing to coach was happily appointed. He grew up playing soccer, but he never seemed to improve his skills. So, when he became part of Elco United, he did not know much about position playing and passing.
Thank you for appreciating the ability Joe has and for teaching him how to develop and use it. Joe told me at the beginning of the season that no one had ever taught him to pass properly, etc., since he missed out on this with his childhood teams, and he was grateful you took the time to do it in a manner where he would not appear foolish.
Joe is hoping you might offer some YPT clinics or something similar so that he will have an opportunity to work with you again. It is our hope that he will continue to learn and grow as a player. Thank you again for your role in helping him on this path during the season.

In my reflection with our seniors, I still heard from them about the simplicity of your training, yet the complexity of it was humbling. Thank you for letting us know about the training. It was well worth the drive. The boys really enjoyed the training and they are looking forward to the next one. I liked that you paid close attention to detail and corrected technical errors when necessary. I liked the small group training setting as well where the boys were able to maximize their touches on the ball. The boys said they loved the technical aspect of the training.

The more time with your training the more he gets out of it. He acknowledges that the club practice is more tactical and not technical. Often he reminds me of the reference points you had taught and how many are not aware of what or how to do things. Saying this more to qualify the resonance of the learned lessons from you. What was appealing was the focus on technical footwork in game-type situations. I have seen so many kids “think” they know how to do a Cruyff, etc. but are not properly executing with correct feet, touches after, acceleration, etc.
There just never seems to be the time in the limited club training sessions to focus on these fundamentals individually or as a group...tactics, tactics, tactics…possession, possession, possession. Possession and tactics come much easier when players can command the ball at their feet. Also, he is so focused on going “fast” that he lacks the feinting portion of moves that would allow him to cleanly beat defenders and also “seem” faster giving himself more space. This was evident in his level of frustration shown at the session with rather “routine” exercises. I would like to bring Robert back as I feel he could really benefit from these types of sessions.

John really enjoyed his session with you. He said that you worked on a lot of things that he knew and the session helped him get better at those things. He thought you had a great demeanor as a coach. You coached them but also made the session fun. He asked me five minutes after the session ended when he could train with you again. That tells me that he felt it was productive because he is very honest with me and straight to the point.

I was at tryouts and preseason with Bethlehem steel of the USL for few months and I can say their training was more physical but yours is more technical and with the ball. This is the type of training that made world class players such as Neymar, Messi because they are not as physical but know exactly what to do with the ball. Thanks for evrything Coach! Hopefully I get to play for you someday or against you.

It is an hour and a half drive for us. Tyler enjoyed the session and I believe it is worth the drive. He has never had the opportunity to train with that caliber of players like that. All those guys are very talented. He liked you also and the way you communicate. I thought the session was very good for him. See you next week, maybe we will bring a friend also.
